Age Meme: ME!

Description

So in the spirit of kinda getting back into drawing, I made my own age meme. I see people doing it with their original characters, but I'm enough of a character and have undergone enough change to do this meme for myself! Haha!
The visuals are best accompanied with the following descriptions of myself at those points in my life:

7th Grade (12-13):
I was pretty reserved, but I had a few friends. My hair was its natural color and was cut with choppy layers. I drew almost solely wolves, and my tools of the trade were thick paper and sharpie. Seriously, I drew with sharpie so much that I used to have to take breaks.... I got dizzy from inhaling the fumes! My jewelry was totally lame. I had my prized possessions, my first converse, gifted to me at age 12. I don't have them anymore because my feet grew too much, haha! I had a "boyfriend" in 7th grade for like a month. It was pretty stupid. I bit my nails at this time and continued to do so up until 12th grade. I listened to heavy metal, and I discovered Metallica via my dad. Metallica still holds a dear place in my heart. I'll never stop loving such beautiful music <3

8th Grade (13-14):
This stage in my life is perhaps the most comical. There is actual photo evidence of me when I looked like that. I basically aspired to be a scene queen and an emo kid at the same time. The cringiest part of my wardrobe was the fedora. I thought I was cool. During this time, I created my fursona, whose name was Lächeln. Yes, that damn fox wore the fedora, too... there are drawings that still exist to this day. I loved stripes; that top is actually one that I think I still have. Of course, I don't wear it anymore. It's simply a relic of past times. I wore shades of greyscale and was a walking Vans bilboard. Seriously, I had Vans shoes, shirts, and, yes, a Vans fedora. I tied checkered shoelaces to my beltloop for no reason. What was the point? I also wore fingerless gloves, which were black/grey striped with grey metal chains. Like I said, I was cool. I wore fake glasses with my contacts, and I wore black eyeliner on my bottom waterlid. I dyed my hair a two-tone brown and had it straightened at all times. Seriously, you couldn't make me un-straighten my hair. I listened to a lot of screamo music during this time period. I had a "boyfriend" for about 8 months, and he was dressed similarly to me. He was also very intellectual, but he had a boyish immaturity that eventually led me to leave him behind. He's dead now.

9th Grade (14-15):
Things tamed down a little when I hit high school. My hair was black in 9th grade, but I eventually re-dyed it to my natural color with a brown gradient as my hair grew out. The side part was very deep. I had to wear the fake glasses to hold the damn part. I didn't straighten my hair as much in 9th grade, and as high school progressed, I actually began to curl my hair, too. I wore a lot of the same clothes, but I never touched the fedoras again. I still wore Vans. I had this dream of becoming a hipster, so I saw a lot of plays and wore a lot of scarves and timepieces for jewelry. As high school progressed, I became more cynical and sarcastic, but I also took myself less seriously. The only thing I was serious about was school. I stopped hanging out with a lot of people and became a recluse in favor of good grades. I didn't get a boyfriend for a while. I also didn't listen to a lot of music because, you know, school.

12th Grade (17-18):
Fast forward to senior year, and you can see how much has changed! I have started really caring about being fit instead of just worrying about being skinny. I have my hair blonde now with my natural color underneath in some areas. I prefer to let myself have the natural beach hair I do, which means, who cares about brushing it? I wear two braids behind my ears; they're my trademark now. I do full-face makeup every day instead of just eye makeup, and I am in love with layering necklaces, rings, bracelets, anklets, and toe rings. I stopped biting my nails, and they're usually painted black. People have noted that I've got a very confident air to me now, which is a gigantic change from prior years when I was younger. It's also not a joke that I don't wear pants or shoes anymore. I only put those on when I have to. My wardrobe mainly consists of a swimsuit with a tank top over it. I love being outside, and I have the new desire to become totally brown. I was always a pale, soulless child. Now I'm basically a wild badass. For some reason, I have a bunch of bruises all the time. I guess it's from messing around outside all the time. I listen to a lot of classic rock, 80s and 90s music, alternative, and basically anything my friends ask me to check out. I like everything except country. My favorite stuff is the nostalgic stuff, I think: Metallica, Queen, Billy Joel, Duran Duran... but I've also come to love Gorillaz, OK Go, Avenged Sevenfold, Mother Mother, and especially Manchester Orchestra. I recently developed an obsession with J. R. R. Tolkien and the LOTR / Hobbit series... I've taken up the aspiration of becoming an elf. Seriously, that's all I want. I love myself now! It's funny to look back on my old self, but it's also really interesting to see how far I've come, especially in regards to physical appearance.

Although these drawings are just messy, mostly-chibi sketches, they're actually pretty accurate! I owned almost all the clothing pictured here.

Anyway, hope you enjoy laughing at how much I've changed!!
